    OUR STORY

    Why. How. Who. Where.

Our story, our journey, our people, and our locations.

    Why we exist

    A strategic initiative

LAUIH was introduced in 2022 by LAU's Board of Trustees as a long-term institutional initiative connecting the university to industry. The model was built to serve three groups at once.

    Students and Faculty

Gain experiential learning on live industry problems, and earn paid contracts before they graduate.

    The University

Delivers on its educational mission while expanding its global reach and operational footprint.

    Industry Partners

Outsource work, talent, and space at a Lebanon cost base, on US-standard delivery.

    How we got here

    The story so far

The milestones tracing LAUIH's path from inception to an international hub.

    2022

    Strategic establishment

LAUIH established by the LAU Board of Trustees as a long-term institutional initiative — a physical and digital space connecting LAU's students, faculty, and alumni to industry.

    2023

    Operations begin

Interim facility opens at LAU's Byblos campus. First Industry Pods scoped and contracted. First EBRD Innovation Programme projects approved. Padvocates: a locally-manufactured menstrual care line for UN Women, ACTED, and Australian Aid becomes one of the first signature deliveries. Bylaws drafted for an Advisory Council of industry and faculty members.

    2024

    Scaling delivery

EBRD-funded projects active and expanding. Advisory Council established. Padvocates production line completed. Partnership base expands across manufacturing, biomedical, telecom, software, and food production.

    2025

    Visibility and international engagement

100 new students engaged, bringing cumulative involvement to 190 across industry pods and workforce. US business development visit yields 11 potential clients and the first signed international MOUs. International collaborations begin in late 2025 to a Saudi Arabia geotechnical platform and a Detroit industrial automation company.

    2026Now

A delivery hub at an international scale

268 cumulative students engaged. 15 faculty members active across multiple schools. 22 EBRD Innovation Programme projects delivered to date. International engagements expand with 5 additional US-based companies. New local MOUs with 3 major Lebanese companies and NGOs. Active across Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, and the US.

    Who runs it

    The team and structure

LAUIH operates with senior professional staff at the operational core, LAU faculty providing technical supervision, recent graduates as Senior Associates, current students as Student Associates, and an Advisory Council shaping strategic direction.
