The Challenge
SmartLand needed an advanced but affordable fertigation machine for Lebanese farming. It had to handle solid and liquid fertilizers. It also had to support both automated decision-support and direct manual control. Reliable outdoor IoT connectivity was required too.
Our Solution
LAUIH developed a full dual-mode design. Solid fertilizer is dispensed by screw conveyors. A liquid fertilizer tank feeds a mixing chamber. The machine senses water level and monitors pH and EC. It uses HMI control, an Arduino R4 Wi-Fi, RS485 communication, and IoT connectivity. The design is backed by CAD models, FEM simulations, schematics, and cost estimates.
The Results
SmartLand received an engineering-ready concept for a dual-mode fertigation machine. In automatic mode, decision-support logic uses crop, soil, and nutrient data. In manual mode, farmers set the target EC directly. CAD files, schematics, a parts list, and simulations form a complete prototype package.
