Precision Biochip Manufacturing Automation

The Challenge

DLOC Biosystems made its organ-on-chip devices with manual labeling, dispensing, inspection, and clamping. This caused alignment errors and depended on individual operators. It also slowed production in a precision biomedical setting.

Our Solution

Over several phases, LAUIH automated each critical manufacturing step. It built software for labeling and file generation. It linked SOLIDWORKS and LabVIEW workflows. It added a precision chemical dispensing system and a vision-based measurement concept. It also made a pneumatic clamping fixture for CNC micro-milling.

The Results

Chip labeling time dropped from 15 to 5 minutes, and large-sheet preparation from 120 to 30 minutes. Manual labeling errors were eliminated. The custom milling clamp now runs on DLOC’s CNC platform and delivers repeatable, sub-micrometer chassis fabrication.
