PulP Sustainable Papercrete Material Roadmap
The Challenge
PulP Ecodesign wanted to turn non-recyclable paper waste into sustainable building materials. It needed proven mixes and a testing plan. These would show that papercrete can meet real-world performance standards.
Our Solution
LAUIH delivered research on material mixes and a testing method aligned with ASTM standards. We also assessed the market and material supply, and planned the production process. We evaluated papercrete improved with fly ash, steel slag, and crushed glass.
The Results
PulP received a practical roadmap with optimized mixes. They target better compressive strength, durability, and insulation. PulP also received a full test plan for compressive strength, water absorption, thermal conductivity, and freeze-thaw durability. This clears the path to blocks, partition walls, and insulation made from paper waste.
